Journey of Brightness and Friendship: Chinese Medical Volunteer Team in North Korea

On the occasion of the Friendship Year between China and North Korea, a Chinese medical team, composed of twelve ophthalmic and dental doctors from Liaoning Provincial Health Department, Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital and He Eye Hospital, Shenyang, recently launched volunteer medical consultation in Xianzhou County, North Korea, brought light and hope for lots of patients in North Korea, and once again composed a touching chapter about the friendship between China and North Korea......

The largest pediatric eye care center launched in He Eye Hospital, Dalian

On September 13, the opening ceremony of the pediatric eye care center was held in He Eye Hospital, Dalian. Supported by local government, promoted by ORBIS International, and financed by Standard Chartered Bank, this project is scheduled to build the largest pediatric eye care center in the Northeast area within three years……

The tenth anniversary of HE optical shop

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of HE optical shop. From the end of July to early September, HE optical company has launched a series of large-scale thanksgiving activities.43 HE optical chain stores all over the Shenyang city and surrounding cities, and nearly 400 HE’s employees were involved in these activities……

On August 21, Stephen Ryan, the President of the Doheny Eye Institute of Southern California, came to Shenyang to accept the Liaoning Provincial “Contributions to People’s Friendship Award”. He Eye Hospital recommended him to be the award nominee and it’s the first time to present the award in Liaoning Province……

A new breakthrough: Chinese traditional medicine treatment for amblyopia

He Eye Hospital, Shenyang, pediatric ophthalmology center, based on the degree of amblyopia, not only performed conventional therapies, but also developed Chinese traditional medicine into the amblyopia treatment, which improved the effectiveness of amblyopia treatment and shorten the treatment period……

Ministry of Health and NGO blindness prevention and treatment coordination meeting

From August 6 to 7, the fifth Ministry of Health and NGO blindness prevention and treatment coordination meeting has been held in Kunming. This meeting mainly discussed the implementation of “the national plan for prevention of blindness (2006-2010)" and how governmental and non-governmental organizations work together to promote prevention ……

European famous oculoplastic surgeon visited He Eye Hospital, Shenyang

European famous oculoplastic surgeon, Dr. Philippe Berros visited He Eye Hospital, Shenyang on July 14, and brought the most advanced technique HA Periorbital Filling. Dr. Berros is currently the consultant of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Centre Hospital of Princess Grace in Monaco……

Set-up of He Eye Suizhong Clinic

On June 20, He Eye Suizhong Clinic was set up, which will definitely own an important place in HE’s history. Local government officials were invited to present at the clinic opening ceremony. Its set-up will prove the tremendous advancement and development made by Huludao He Eye Hospital……

He Eye Hospital developed DALK technique

Deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) has come a long way. Traditional PKP shows its good advantages, but it does have higher requirement for donated cornea and has the risk. Recently, there is a growing tendency for oversea doctors using such DALK, helping such techniques back to the surgery room……

He Eye Care Month: Glaucoma 2020 Action

On June 20, as one of the series activities in He Eye Care Month, a jointly-developed lecture, by both Shenyang He Eye Hospital and Vision Care Foundation, on Glaucoma Protection & Treatment, was delivered for Shenyang citizens. It is a reminder of people to be cautious of their eye health……

The first vitrectomy in Western Liaoning by He Eye Hospital, Huludao

On July 30, He Eye Hospital, Huludao performed vitrectomy for four patients with vitreous hemorrhage and retinal detachment. In attempt to boost the development of Chinese traditional medicine for ophthalmology, and innovation of Chinese traditional medicine, standardization of Chinese medicine ophthalmology clinics, He Eye Hospital set up a Chinese traditional medicine committee on June 22……

Developed by He Eye Hospita, Huludao, Huludao Charity Federation and Huludao Commercial Bank, “Charity Action for Cataract Sight Restoration” has been launched on July 13 and the initial 27 patients from Jianchang County of Huludao city, received the free treatment……

On June 30, a returned student from USC (University of Southern California, America), visited He College of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. He described the unique teaching method applied by USC and his own experience in USC, discussed with HE’s students about the differences in learning and life between HE College and USC……
